Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LocalTab service (the "Service"), operated by LocalTab, LLC ("LocalTab," "we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

LocalTab provides software that lets a participating store or business ("Store") operate house charge accounts — allowing the Store's customers and employees to run a tab using a card, fob, or digital wallet pass and receive statements. LocalTab is a software provider, not a bank, lender, money transmitter, or payment processor. All credit decisions, balances owed, and collection of payment are between the Store and its account holder.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. Stores are responsible for managing their account holders, credit limits, and cards/passes.

3. Charge accounts & balances

A charge made through the Service represents an amount owed by the account holder to the Store, not to LocalTab. LocalTab records and reports these amounts but does not collect, guarantee, or finance them. Disputes about a charge or balance should be raised with the Store.

4. Cards & digital wallet passes

Cards, fobs, and wallet passes are credentials that identify an account at the register. They are not payment cards and cannot be used outside the issuing Store's accounts. Lost or compromised credentials should be reported to the Store so they can be revoked and reissued.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access accounts you are not authorized to use, interfering with the Service's operation, or using it for unlawful purposes.

6. Fees

Subscription fees are charged to the Store at the rate agreed at signup (for example, a flat per-location monthly fee). There are no per-transaction fees charged by LocalTab. Account holders are not charged by LocalTab for using a card or pass.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and the LocalTab name and logo, is owned by LocalTab and protected by law. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it except as permitted by these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalTab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for amounts owed between a Store and its account holders.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
