This Privacy Policy explains how LocalTab, operated by LocalTab, LLC ("LocalTab," "we," "us"), collects, uses, and protects information when you or the store you do business with use the LocalTab service (the "Service"). LocalTab provides house charge-account software to local stores; it is not a payment processor, bank, or lender.
Information we collect
- Account information you or your store provide: name, phone number, email address, business/store name, and account settings such as credit limits.
- Transaction and statement data: charges made on an account, balances, and the statements generated from them.
- Credential data for cards, fobs, and digital wallet passes: an opaque card/token identifier used to look up the correct account at the register. We do not store payment card numbers or bank account numbers.
- Technical data when you use our websites and dashboard: device/browser type and basic log information used to operate and secure the Service.
How we use information
- To operate accounts, process charges onto a store account, and generate statements.
- To issue, display, and revoke digital wallet passes and physical cards/fobs.
- To provide support, send service-related notifications (for example, a card-activated alert), and secure the Service against fraud and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Digital wallet passes
When you add a LocalTab card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, the pass carries an opaque token that identifies your account at the register. We store only a hashed form of that token. We do not receive your device's payment credentials, and the pass cannot be used to make card payments — it only references your store account.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only: (a) with the store or business that holds your account, so they can manage it; (b) with service providers who help us operate the Service (such as cloud hosting and email delivery) under confidentiality obligations; and (c) where required by law.
Data retention
We retain account, transaction, and statement records for as long as the account is active and as needed for the store's recordkeeping, tax, and legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and storing card/pass tokens only in hashed form. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us or the store that holds your account. You can remove a digital wallet pass from your device at any time, and ask your store to revoke a lost card or pass.
Children
The Service is intended for businesses and adult customers and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
